Holy crap, this sounds like an actual ass-destroying soundtrack. I can hear boss fights, chase scenes, and plot twists all through this.
That is all.

A music box version of that “Hikari” song from Kingdom Hearts was playing in the drug store and I was fighting back tears. That is all.

Final Symphony: London Symphony Orchestra Tribute to Final Fantasy
By Heath | March 5, 2015 at 11:41 pm
The London Symphony Orchestra has put together a symphonic tribute to Final Fantasy VI, VII, and X. Taking Nobuo Uematsu’s original compositions and blending them with a full-on symphony treatment, this album “Final Symphony” is more than just arranged versions of Final Fantasy music tracks. It’s actually in the old symphony style, where this action is like a full-on musical story. Take a look at the full track list below the embedded video and you’ll see what I mean — symphonies in three movements that add up to, like half an hour, for the music of one game from the series. And I, for one, think that’s kinda cool.

OC Remix raised a successful $150,000 kickstarter and used that money to hire the Slovak National Orchestra and pay Square Enix royalties. Now they pass the benefits on to you, with the complete, beautiful, remastered soundtrack up for free download. Check out a YouTube sampler on the download page for a hint of the awesomeness you’re getting.

By Heath | October 6, 2010 at 8:54 pm
Yasunori Mitsuda, who generally uses Twitter in Japanese (duh?), tossed out one in English today, saying “We start to make the orchestra arranged version of Xenogears! Please tell us your favorite music!” He links to the Square Enix Music official page of the upcoming album and requests that fans get in on the planning by voting for their favorite songs from Xenogears.
