Lifetime, 6-month subscriptions return to Champions Online

Cryptic Studios, seemingly taking the advice of Army of the Pharaohs when they say, “React on impulse and show your results calmly,” regrouped and gave their masses of upset fans what they wanted (and, in this case, were justified in asking for). The company announced today that Lifetime and six-month subscriptions are back. They’ll sell however many they will until 11:59p.m. on Aug. 31. Click here to evaluate a purchase. Lifetime subs cost $200, while the six-month deals run for $60, and neither apply to future expansion packs.

Dragon Quest IX maps, lists, Famitsu guide final edition (I think)

Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIV likely slowed by Xbox Live

At GamesCom, Hiromichi Tanaka told the media that Square Enix is actively in talks with Microsoft about an Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIV, but if such a version comes to exist, it will likely not arrive at the same time as the PS3 and PC versions. The holdup seems to be the Xbox Live service, which requires its own separate subscription. Here are some shots of the game in action:

Champions Online discount subscriptions run out, outrage ensues

Recently, Cryptic Studios announced extended subscription packages for Champions Online. Coming in six-month and lifetime forms, these would save money for those who intended to play the game for a long time. Expected to be on sale until Sept. 1, Aug. 25 rolled around and these subscriptions had sold out. This left some serious bitterness in the mouths of prospcti e customers, such as angry forum member corpralhicks82, who says, “You dropped a lot in my estimations today, Cryptic.”

Level-5 announces Fantasy Life for DS

At the LEVEL 5 VISION conference, Level-5 unveiled its newest RPG, Fantasy Life.  The game will be designed by Level-5, but developed by Brownie Brown, the company responsible for titles such as Blue Dragon Plus, Magical Starsign, and Mother 3.
