SOE feasts on new acquisition

Sony Online Entertainment now owns the card-based online strategy game Pox Nora, as well as the rest of Tucson-based Octopi, creators of Pox Nora. As part of the acquisition deal, members of the Octopi development team will form the base of SOE’s new Tucson studio, focusing on the continuing support of Pox Nora as well as working with SOE’s Denver studio on new trading card and strategy game projects.

Age of Conan to reduce servers by more than half

Funcom announced that they have begun reducing the number of servers for Age of Conan. Currently using 49 servers, Funcom plans to reduce this to only 18, indicating a drastic drop off in subscription players.

Star Ocean: Second Evolution PAL release date.

SquareEnix has announced that Star Ocean: Second Evolution will be available across Europe and all PAL territories for the PSP on February 13. Stare Ocean: Second Evolution is the second game in the Star Ocean series, redesigned and ported to the PSP

There’s a whopping three titles to be had this January; one PS2 title and two PSP titles. If the titles are any indication, the clear winner for this month is February.

Last Remnant PC bound

Square Enix’s The Last Remnant, originally released for the Xbox 360 in November, will soon have a PC edition of the game. Square Enix announced earlier this week that The Last Remnant will see a Games for Windows release in North America and PAL regions in spring 2009. The PS3 version of the game still bears a “to be announced” release window.
