Help my buddy’s daughter out

By Heath | September 20, 2011 at 9:33 am

This is not RPG related but good cause related. My friend Anthony’s daughter has a chronic disease that science has yet to cure. He and his wife have joined a charitable walk to put some funds towards the research necessary to keep working towards it. If you’ve got some spare change, you could be a wonderful person and lend a hand. Yeah I know just like last week I urged people to donate to the Red Cross because Japan still has millions of man-hours worth of tsunami cleanup. So what? If you’ve got money to buy games and Xbox live and the unlimited text messaging pack, you’ve got 50 cents to rebuild a devastated Japanese house and/or vastly improve a nice little girl’s life. A little help?

Content Break: Cleaning Up Tsunami Damage

By Heath | September 16, 2011 at 6:43 pm

Hey all. Thanks for reading RPGLand.com. Seriously, we can’t thank you enough for validating our work. I was tempted to put a joke there, but this is serious time — a marked rarity on this website, I know. We wanted to let you know that there will be a bit of a delay in our content roll, as Janelle and I are moments from boarding a bus that will take us up to Iwate prefecture. We’re going North to do volunteer service to clean up tsunami damage. The day that happened, I knew at some point we had to go up there and help. The Japanese people have been flocking to help the area and have banded together with great strength. Our long-awaited opportunity has come, so Janelle and I are jumping on it. We’re sorry about the slowdown in content, but really, we’re not actually “sorry” because that would imply some sort of regret. Media coverage of the tsunami has surely decreased since it’s not longer breaking news, but trust me, there’s still a ton of work to be done. People are still without homes up there and entire towns are still awaiting the day a rebuild can begin. Donate something to the Red Cross, please. Thank you.

Dragon Warrior Land enters beta phase

By Heath | June 9, 2010 at 9:49 am

Our old buddy Tim has been hard at work developing an MMORPG set in an “alternate universe” tipping its hat to the Dragon Quest series. This 2D online adventure has the working title of “Dragon Warrior Land” and can be checked out at its official website. While still in development and testing, the game promises a main story as well as many sidequests, customizable player housing, and a balance between party and solo play. This is being made by the man who once taught me everything there was to know about Ultima Online, so I trust he knows a thing or two about what makes a quality MMORPG. Check it out and apply for the beta.

*Sorry guys, updates might be less than usual*

By Heath | March 13, 2010 at 8:55 am

I’m a man with few secrets.  There might be some slowdown in what Janelle and I can post in the next little while.  I ended up being carried via ambulance to the ER today, and the hoo-hah of it all has left me quite exhausted, despite it not being nearly as bad as that first time. There are like 50 things on the ol’ plate that we’ve gotta post, and they will get posted. Today I went with the Blaze Union thing and that’s all I can handle. I wanted to come on here and give you all an explanation though, instead of just an unchanged index (or at least, one not moving at its usual speed). We appreciate your understanding. Thank you.

Of Average Returns

Heath Hindman is an arrogant jackass.  So arrogant and such a jackass, in fact, that he writes about himself in the third person.

What a dick.

RPG Land: Committed to Quality

My wife just asked me, “Should you update The History of SaGa to note that another one is being remade?”

“Screw that,” came the reply.
