I disagree with Ashton Liu

By Heath | July 3, 2009 at 7:02 am

When RPGFan’s Asthon Liu says in his recent Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days review, “Nobody would have guessed that the product of Square Enix and Disney’s unholy tryst would have even taken off,” I politely disagree and stand as an exception. I remember expecting to make a huge splash. …Which means I also disagree with his next clause, “not to mention make a big a splash as it did….”

I seem to recall there being great expectations and sky’s-the-limit predictions surrounding the original Kingdom Hearts. I’m used to making fun of people from here on out, but like, in this case, that’s about the extent of my disagreement and it’s not founded on anyone being retarded, so ah….

NintendoEverything.com now reveals a magazine scan and info that the game will be called Hikari no Yon Senshi: Final Fantasy Gaiden for Nintendo DS (”Hikari no Yon Senshi” meaning “Four Warriors of Light,” hence that big 4 on the countdown site). Info after the image:

Of Average Returns

By Heath | July 1, 2009 at 5:46 am

Heath Hindman is an arrogant jackass.  So arrogant and such a jackass, in fact, that he writes about himself in the third person.

What a dick.

By Joseph | June 26, 2009 at 8:25 pm

Whoa, Square Enix is making a new game! Surprising. Because, you know, game companies TOTALLY never make new games…

The only hints are a countdown timer and a sketch of a scene coupled with the number 4. Start speculating, internet.

Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard, reviewed

By Michael | June 25, 2009 at 12:24 pm

Guest reviewer, Timothy Olsen recently reviewed Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard for RPG Land. Here is the results.

For those who fondly remember the days of yore when the only story one needed in a game was the hook “Your party meets at a tavern,” this game delivers a truly wondrous dungeon crawl. For those expected a story to be told and characters to identify with, not even this game’s musical score will save the player from the unholy amount of tedium and pain they will face. The chance to overcome this game’s dungeon is the only reward Etrian Odyssey II offers, so players should judge their tastes before making a purchase.
